A season guide to tractor implements for farming
Tractor implements are chosen by the job they do: primary tillage (plough), secondary tillage (cultivator), digging (post hole digger) and material handling (front end loader).
Start of season — opening the field
After harvest, open the field with an MB plough or reversible disc plough so that residue is mixed in and the soil is aerated.
Before sowing
Use a cultivator to make the soil fine and prepare the seedbed. This gives more uniform germination.
