Difference between a cultivator and a plough
A plough is a primary tillage implement that cuts deep and turns the soil over, while a cultivator is a secondary tillage implement that loosens, levels and weeds soil that has already been ploughed.
What a plough does
Opening the field at the start of the season, burying crop residue and weeds, and breaking compacted layers is the plough's job. The two common types are the MB plough and the disc plough.
What a cultivator does
Breaking large clods after ploughing, making a fine seedbed, and inter-cultivation between rows of a standing crop are all done with a cultivator.

सामान्य क्रम यही रहता है: पहले हल से गहरी जुताई, फिर कल्टीवेटर के एक या दो पास, और उसके बाद बुवाई।
